New Bunting Display

I have been racking my brain for a new way to display my bunting samples on my market table for some time.  Up until now, I have been using a fabric covered board propped up by an easel - I had made good sales this way but the board takes up nearly half the table...there must be something better.

This problem had troubled me for ages and then it hit me.....a clothes rail - so simple and cheap that I'm embarrassed it has taken me over a year to come up with this! So, supplies ordered......

I primed the dull black clothes rail and sprayed it a lovely blue..

I knocked up a new sign....

And ta da.... 

Much better I think.

Christmas Reindeer Bunting

This Christmas, I'm making reindeer bunting for sale in my on-line shop and at Christmas fairs.  I wanted to have something quick, simple and Christmassy to make alongside my regular stuff plus I also really wanted to try fabric printing and so decided to combine the two.

So, here's what I did....

Carve my own stamp.  Carve my own stamp! Hang on, this is getting complicated!  The kit arrived, I drew my shape onto the rubber and got out my gouging tool - oooooh.

To be honest, I thought this would go horribly, horribly wrong.  But, I was extra careful and managed to carve a pretty good stamp for my first time.

After a little cleaning up, I just got busy stampin'

 Added a little felt holly and red button berries 

And we're done.

Mega Bunting Delivered

Mission accomplished!  Managed to complete the 100m of bunting on Tuesday and then pack it all up (which took 2 hours!!!) and deliver it to Ralph Lauren yesterday in time for their event at the weekend.   I'm so pleased with myself that I was actually able to do this - the longest I've made is 5m so 100m seemed very daunting not least the thought of making 400 flags!

I had to call in the big guns (my Mum) just to help me make a good start as I had my first craft fair in between too - but we got there in the end. 

Making such a big order has shown that I need to make a few changes around here for us all to be able to work and live in the same house as the mega bunting took over the whole place!  So, top of my Christmas Wish List is a new bigger house or a lovely warm large shed in the garden - Mr L, what do you think??

Failing that a bigger ironing board would be most useful!
