New Bunting Display

I have been racking my brain for a new way to display my bunting samples on my market table for some time.  Up until now, I have been using a fabric covered board propped up by an easel - I had made good sales this way but the board takes up nearly half the table...there must be something better.

This problem had troubled me for ages and then it hit me.....a clothes rail - so simple and cheap that I'm embarrassed it has taken me over a year to come up with this! So, supplies ordered......

I primed the dull black clothes rail and sprayed it a lovely blue..

I knocked up a new sign....

And ta da....

Much better I think.

Suitcase Make-over

A few weeks back on a trip to Liberty, I fell in love with a fabric covered suitcase - I even posted the link to it on facebook in the hope that Mr L would surprise me with a gift!  He did eventually see it but by that time I was onto Plan B....

I wanted the suitcase for my market table display so I followed ebay for just the right suitcase (at just the right price!) and eventually won this little beauty - it has a handle missing but as it's for my display, it's not important.

Although the Liberty suitcase had a beautiful fabric cover, I decided the leather was pretty enough to stay (besides, it's going to be open so covering it would be a waste of time!)....however, I needed to do a little work inside....

I cleaned it up....the worst bit.  Ripped out the inside, gave it a rub down and a wash and then the good bit...

And ta da.....

So it's not quite the beautiful Liberty print suitcase I was after, but I think it looks good and it was sooo much cheaper!  My lovely Plan B suitcase will have it's debut this Sunday at the Duck Pond Market in Ruislip!

I did my third craft fair on Sunday - the Duck Pond Market at Ruislip and had a really good day. It was a very late booking on Thursday which meant long hours over the following few days but I think that might have actually helped as I was FOCUSED. I knew what I wanted, what I needed, what I had to abandon for another day and I went for it - it was a bit of a success given that I did the last bit of sewing on Friday night and was able to spend Saturday night just "styling" (oooohh...get me!).

The market is held in a lovely old barn and as it was Mother's Day, there were lots of families out for the day. In my last post, I was feeling all negative about my product pictures and my displays so I put my thinking cap on and raided the house for bits and bobs and came up with this...

This is such am improvement from my last craft fair so feel really positive in the way things are going.  I had to use a lot of props as I currently have a few bag inners with no clasps as I'm waiting for a shipment.

I don't think I've introduced my new bags on the blog yet have I??  Well, here they are...

Hope you like them!
